The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, this exciting commercial role has responsibility for the entire accounting, finance, administration, and company secretarial functions of this £10m turnover Company. You would lead, manage and motivate a team of four staff to produce timely financial and management accounts information within strict reporting deadlines and build/maintain relationships with external auditors and other advisers and suppliers. You would be responsible for preparation of annual budget and capital expenditure proposals, and undertake special projects and investigations, both financial and operational. The incumbent would also oversee statutory reporting, currency, tax, information systems, company secretarial and pension issues, plus accounts and IT System improvement to meet the needs of a growing business. To be considered, you will be an ACA qualified accountant or equivalent, with suitable post qualification experience. You must have a strong Manufacturing background, excellent IT skills including implementation and/or project management, and developed staff management skills. You must enjoy an all encompassing role, in which you will be assisting the board making strategic decisions and also hands on with the accounts in the same day. You will have strong technical accounting skills, comfortable in budgeting, forecasting, stock control, costing, taxation and cash management, plus excellent verbal and written communicator capable of presenting complex technical issues to both her/his peers and non-experts in a clear and effective manner.
